The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday, will play the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the African Cup of Nations Round of 16.

The Cameroonians defeated the Gambia 3-2 on Tuesday night to round up the group stage, the match was officially verified.

With the victory, they placed fourth in group C, four points behind Senegal. Meanwhile, Guinea, who suffered a Tuesday loss to Senegal, qualified for the knockout stage as one of the best losers.

Super Eagles defeated Guinea Bissau 1-0 on Monday to go to the next round.

The team finished Group A seven points behind Equatorial Guinea, the surprise gift.

With seconds remaining in the match at the Stade de la Paix, Cameroon scored twice to steal a thrilling victory and send Ghana out of the competition.

Ebrima Colley gave the Gambia a 2-1 lead on 85 minutes in an incredible Bouake finish, but Joseph Gomez let away an own goal, and Christopher Wooh’s goal in extra time sealed the drama.

Despite being ranked 80 places higher than the Gambia in the world, Cameroon was under a lot of pressure in the first half and were fortunate to be tied at zero points at halftime.
