Air Peace has announced the resumption of its flight operations starting Friday, following the suspension of the strike by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMeT) workers.

In a statement released on Thursday night, the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Ejike Ndiulo, expressed gratitude to customers and the public for their patience and support during the disruption.

Ndiulo commended the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, for his decisive intervention, which was pivotal in resolving the impasse and restoring normalcy within the aviation industry.

He highlighted the minister’s swift engagement with aviation stakeholders, transparent approach, and dedication to the stability and progress of the aviation sector.

The statement emphasised that Keyamo’s efforts not only facilitated a timely resolution of the industrial dispute but also underscored his broader vision for a safer, more efficient, and investor-friendly Nigerian aviation industry.

NiMeT workers had initiated the strike on April 22, protesting poor working conditions, including the non-implementation of the 2019 Consequential Adjustment to the National Minimum Wage, and demanding salary increases and allowances, affecting flight operators like Air Peace.

The minister had promised to find lasting solutions to these problems, leading to the suspension of the strike
