On Wednesday, the Amotekun Corps, also known as the Ondo National Security Network Agency, brought in more than 31 criminal suspects.
According to Adetunji Adeleye, the Commander of the Amotekun Corps in the State, the suspects were arrested during Easter and Eid el-Fitr celebrations in various parts of the state.
Adetunji stated that the suspects had committed crimes such as rape, illegal herding, kidnapping, armed robbery, and murder.
Adeleye, Governor Akeredolu’s security adviser, pledges security officials to take stern actions against community unrest.
He assured that it is safe for Corp members and NYSC officials to conduct programs in Ikare Akoko Orientation Camp. In addition, advised residents to be security conscious as herdsmen had renewed attempts to flood forests in the state.
Adeleye disclosed that illegal herdsmen had recently entered from Ekiti, Kogi, and Edo States.
He said the herders arrived in trucks, but authorities prevented some from entering the state.
