A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayekooto Akindele, has expressed strong confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s chances of winning the 2027 presidential election with an overwhelming majority.
According to Akindele, Tinubu’s victory will be so decisive that he will be declared the winner by noon on election day, with votes “overflowing” in his favour.
In a series of posts on his Facebook page, Akindele stated that Tinubu would not need to struggle for re-election, as the outcome would be a foregone conclusion.
He emphasised that the president’s mandate would be “overwhelmingly renewed” without any significant challenge. The APC chieftain also took a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, accusing him of rigging the last governorship election in Adamawa State.
He claimed that Atiku attempted to manipulate the results against the incumbent governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, but was thwarted when a rogue Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) official was apprehended.
Akindele warned that such electoral malpractice would not be tolerated in the 2027 presidential election, ensuring a free and fair process. He further dismissed critics who questioned the credibility of the newly appointed APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Yilwatda, describing him as a “hidden star” from Plateau State.
Drawing parallels to Tinubu’s past decisions, Akindele recalled how the president introduced Yemi Osinbajo as a relatively unknown figure in 2015 before he became vice president. He praised Tinubu’s ability to identify and elevate talented individuals, calling him a “fisher of men.”
The statement underscores the growing optimism within the APC about Tinubu’s political strength ahead of the next election cycle, while also dismissing opposition claims and reinforcing the party’s confidence in its leadership choices.
