Arsenal Contemplates Thomas Partey Sale to Fund January Transfers

In a bid to strengthen their squad for the upcoming year, Arsenal is reportedly considering the sale of midfielder Thomas Partey. The Ghanaian, currently sidelined due to injury and set to miss the Africa Cup of Nations in January, is seen as a potential source of funds for the Gunners’ transfer plans.

Despite leading the Premier League race, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is already planning reinforcements, with the likes of Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz on their radar. Partey, a key player in the previous season, has struggled with fitness issues, and the emergence of Declan Rice has lessened the urgency to retain him in the starting XI.

Reports suggest that Arsenal has a keen interest in Douglas Luiz, but securing his transfer midseason might require a substantial offer. The Gunners had previously made three unsuccessful bids for the Brazilian midfielder.

With limited funds after a significant summer spending spree, Arsenal is navigating financial constraints while eyeing potential targets. Juventus is rumored to be interested in Thomas Partey, providing a possible avenue for the Gunners to generate funds for new acquisitions.

As Arsenal contemplates reshuffling its squad, Pedro Neto from Wolves and Brentford’s Ivan Toney are also identified as potential targets. The club aims to address specific areas and add depth to the squad to maintain their competitiveness in the Premier League title race.
