Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has rewarded four outstanding indigene students with ₦4 million for their exceptional performance in the 2024 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
The beneficiaries—Kawthar Shehu (348), Geoffrey Yakubu (347), Abdullahi Garba (347), and Magaji Umar (333)—were honored during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education in Bauchi on Tuesday. Each student received ₦1 million to support their pursuit of higher education.
Governor Mohammed, represented by the Head of Service, Yahuza Adamu, emphasized that the gesture underscores his administration’s commitment to fostering human capital development and promoting academic excellence.
“This initiative aims to inspire students across Bauchi State to strive for academic distinction and demonstrates our dedication to investing in the future of our youths,” he said.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ali Babayo, revealed that the awards were part of Bauchi ministry’s strategy to encourage students to excel academically.
The initiative has been widely praised as a step towards nurturing talent and motivating students to achieve outstanding results. It aligns with the government’s broader goals of improving education standards and empowering the next generation through meaningful incentives.
