Ilebaye Odiniya, the winner of Big Brother Naija All Stars, recently explained her unique connection to cowrie shells, dispelling rumors that she communicated with them during her time in the Big Brother house. According to her, these cowrie shells serve as a tangible link to her late brother and help keep his memory alive.
In a candid interview on Pulse’s “One on One,” hosted by fellow reality star Christy O, Ilebaye addressed the claims made online about her interaction with cowrie shells. When asked about it, she shared her heartfelt reasons behind carrying and communicating with the cowrie shells during her time in the Big Brother house.
Ilebaye explained that the cowrie shells held immense sentimental value for her, and they were a tribute to her late brother. She expressed,
I had something precious to me. Because obviously, you are supposed to have something precious when you’re doing something that you miss at home.”
These cowrie shells were a connection to her late brother, and she also mentioned a baton as another cherished memento. The shells and baton provided her with a sense of comfort and the feeling that her brother was still with her, even after his passing.
