Davido’s ‘Timeless’ Album Shatters Records, Here’s What’s Been Achieved So Far

The fourth studio album by Nigerian Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, nicknamed Davido, “Timeless,” has broken numerous records since its release and may be “timeless”.

Davido Music Worldwide, Columbia Records, and Sony Music Entertainment released the 17-track album on March 31, 2023, in its entirety. The album includes guest appearances from Nigerian artists Asake, Fave, The Cavemen, Morravey, and Logos Olori, as well as Grammy-winning Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo, British rapper Skepta, South African music producer/DJ Musa Keys, Jamaican dancehall/reggae singer Dexta Daps, and South African rapper Focalistic.

Davido’s “Timeless” album has been shattering and setting records since its debut, despite an initial partial leak.

Highest charting African album in the history of Apple Music in the US

Davido’s album “Timeless” became the highest-ranking album by an Afrobeats artist less than 24 hours after its release, peaking at Number 2 on the US Apple Music Album chart.

Biggest first-day streams on Spotify Nigeria

The biggest first-day streams on Spotify Nigeria were broken by Davido’s “Timeless” album, which dethroned Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini.” Davido’s album broke the record for the largest number of streams on the first release day. The album received 4.91 million streams, surpassing Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” record of 1.36 million from July 8, 2022.

Highest First-Day Streams On Apple Music For An African Album

The most first-day stream total for an African album on Apple Music was broken by Davido’s “Timeless.”

On Monday, April 3, 2023, Apple Music tweeted that the Nigerian superstar’s album #Timeless has the most first-day streams of any African album.  Davido’s “Timeless” album set the record for the biggest first-day stream on Boomplay, Africa’s biggest music streaming service. The album broke the previous record set by Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” with 7.25M streaming on its first day (3.38M).

Audiomack announced Davido’s new achievement on their official Twitter account. They stated that his album “Timeless” has broken the record for the biggest first-day streaming.

Audiomack Africa tweeted: “RECORD-BREAKING: @davido’s #Timeless had over 12 MILLION listens in its first 24 hours, more than any other album on Audiomack, ever!”
