Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko has issued a public service announcement as she excitedly counts down to her birthday, which is just two days away.
The Asaba movie star took to her Instagram page to share photos from a recent trip, expressing her gratitude to God while also making a specific request to her fans and well-wishers.
In her post, Destiny stated that she is overwhelmed with the number of presents she receives each year and would prefer monetary gifts instead. She humorously noted that she and her team are “tired of presents.”
She wrote,
BIRTHDAY IN TWO DAYS. All thanks to God Almighty. Pls, if you wanna give me a gift, pls monetise it o. We don tire for presents o. Love u all.”
Destiny’s request comes as no surprise, given her past experiences with extravagant gifts. Last year, she received N2 million as a birthday present from one of her brand’s founders. The actress shared a screenshot of the alert on social media, expressing her gratitude to the brand’s boss for his generosity.
Earlier this year, Destiny was again left speechless when her boss surprised her with a grand gesture—a huge cow and two bags of rice. Sharing clips of the surprise on Instagram, Destiny couldn’t contain her excitement, expressing how overwhelmed she was by the thoughtful gift.
Reflecting on her career, Destiny recently opened up about her humble beginnings in the film industry. She revealed that she wasn’t earning up to N100k when she first started acting, but her passion for the job kept her going. Today, she enjoys much greater success and recognition, which she attributes to her unwavering commitment to her craft.
As her birthday approaches, Destiny has already begun receiving gifts. In a recent Instagram post, she shared a screenshot of a cash gift she received, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the sender. She noted that her birthday celebrations haven’t even started, yet the love and surprises have already begun pouring in.
