Many times, society reduces us to the point where we no longer see ourselves through our own veil but through its veil. This, if not properly managed may in turn not only define our personality but makeup who we become. We must always bear in mind that we are necessarily not who or what society thinks us to be.

When you’re so self-aware people consider you to be assertive, strong-willed or confident, this goes to tell you how much of a strong personality you have. Bear in mind, some people are often intimidated by those whose personality commands respect particularly if you’re female. A lot of people don’t feel comfortable around strong women and call them names.

Rather than get offended by this, consider it a blessing. As long as you’re not putting others down, you’ve got nothing to worry about. If you’re unsure about whether or not you have a strong personality, here are traits to look out for.

Everyone listens when you speak.

People with very strong personality command the respect of others. Others can’t help but listen when they talk. While this may sometimes be due to your voice, level of articulation or gesticulation. More often than not, it is the confidence you exude when addressing people.

They refer to you as being “Bossy”.

As stated earlier, people who have a sense of insecurity are often intimidated by people who are stronger, more assertive, and more confident than they’re comfortable with. However, it is not enough reason for you to stop being you. As long as you do not hurt anyone or yourself with it or make life unbearable for others. Holding on to your personality also opens you up to more opportunities.

You are an Effective Planner.

If you always come prepared and you’re the type who sets goals and achieve them, then you’d easily command respect. Much more than being meticulous with your goals is also your ability to carry others along in achieving the set goals.

You’re a Problem Solver.

People with very strong personalities are often unperturbed when problems arise. But rather than brood over them, they come up with solutions and attack the problem. They simply acknowledge their mistakes, learn from them and move on.

You have a Great Deal of ‘Frenemies’.

Individuals with strong personalities often have a number of frenemies. Frenemies are people who don’t like you but for one reason or another remain your friends. Not because you pick fights with them or because you’re mean but because your personality brings out their insecurities and self-esteem issues. As long as you’re being good to people and do not wish them harm, you don’t have to concern yourself with it.

You’re not Easily Intimidated.

People think of you as assertive and bossy while you view everyone as equal and are not intimidated by them. Not many people can come to terms with this and as such consider your personality a strong one.

You’re not scared of standing alone

When you’re not desperately seeking others’ validation or companionship and are unapologetically you, you’re considered one with a strong personality.

People who are not scared of standing alone do not pretend to be what they are not to seek acceptance or please others. They will not do things differently from the way they have always done them and would always maintain their integrity regardless.

If all of the above applies to you, then chances are that you have a strong personality which commands respect from people. Let me know what you think about people with very strong personalities.
