The Eagles of Mali defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Nigeria lost the match by two goals in either half.

E. Toure gave Mali the lead in the 18th minute, and the runners-up in the recently finished African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast were unable to force a tie in the first half.

K. Doumbia secured the victory in the 84th minute, giving Mali the win in the friendly.

This was George Finidi’s first loss as interim coach since Jose Peseiro’s contract expired.

Finidi won his first game in charge on Friday, a friendly against Ghana’s Black Stars.
