The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has lifted the economic sanctions placed on Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Guinea.
The decision was made on Saturday in Abuja during an emergency meeting on the political, security, and peace situations in the ECOWAS sub-region.
However, the regional alliance stated that political and targeted sanctions would remain in place.
Recalls that in reaction to the military coup in Niger, the West African bloc established a no-fly zone above the nation.
The Nigerian government recently shut off electricity supplies to the military-ruled country in an effort to urge the juntas to restore democracy.
