Kayode Egbetokun, Inspector-General of Police, has directed Commissioners of Police and Tactical Commanders to increase security nationwide ahead of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, stated this on Monday in Abuja.
The I-G also directed CPs and their supervising Assistant Inspectors General of Police, or AIGs, to ensure that the Force’s officers and resources were properly deployed.
Egbetokun asked senior police to ensure that the deployment includes vital areas such as Eid prayer grounds and leisure facilities.
He explained that the goal was to inspire confidence among people and pleasure seekers.
