Prof Abayomi Arigbabu, the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, has urged Ogun teachers to broaden their understanding of modern methodology to teach students better and improve training and
learning throughout the state.
Arigbabu presided over the second day of the First Term Pre-Resumption Stakeholders Meeting for the 2024/2025 academic session with teachers and private school owners at Lisabi Grammar School in Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.
He emphasised that Ogun teachers must be prepared, dedicated, and devoted to making their classes interactive and teaching exciting for students.
Arigbabu revealed that the ministry is working with the Ministry of Agriculture and soilless farmers to promote farming in schools across the state as a source of revenue for school maintenance.
He reaffirmed that woodworking would be added to the school curriculum as a mandatory subject to stimulate entrepreneurship and provide students with a source of income after they graduate.
According to Arigbabu:
“We are committed to ensuring Ogun State is second to none in terms of education; all hands must be on deck to ensure this is achieved. I wish you happy resumption and a successful term.”
