Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has sparked a wave of criticism from her followers with her latest video. Sharing a clip on Instagram, the movie star danced joyfully in a celestial gown, sending a Sunday message to her millions of followers.
The video, however, did not sit well with many fans, especially given the current economic difficulties in the country.
One commenter, Chinonso Reymond, expressed his frustration by insulting Eniola and President Tinubu. He wrote,
Oloriburuku human being. Why you no go dance? Aunty Ode. E no go better for you and Tinubu.” In response, Eniola called him a “jobless human being” and told him to go home, suggesting that the earth is already full.
Another follower warned Eniola that karma would catch up with her, stating,
Enjoy the life cause you will get all you deserve in fold. Na una dey spoil country.” Eniola retorted by suggesting he check Jumia, humorously implying they might have a “life for sale.”
The backlash is not surprising given Eniola Badmus’s public support for President Tinubu. Her open endorsement and congratulations to the president on his first year in office drew significant ire from Nigerians frustrated by the ongoing economic hardship.
Despite the criticism, Eniola Badmus recently celebrated her appointment as Special Assistant to the Speaker of The Federal Republic of Nigeria on Social Events and Public Hearing. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity, calling it a milestone in her career and a chance to contribute to the nation’s goals and vision.
