Tony Khan, the CEO of Fulham, has praised Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey for his play.
Bassey signed a four-year contract with the Whites after leaving Eredivisie team Ajax Amsterdam on Friday night.
Tosin Adarabioyo will be replaced by the 23-year-old in the team.
In order to recruit the adaptable defender, Fulham defeated Brighton & Hove Albion, another Premier League team.
Bassey was praised by Khan and called a valuable addition to the team.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Calvin Bassey to Fulham Football Club!” he told the club’s official website.
“He’s a young and versatile defender; a homegrown player who developed at Leicester City’s academy before moving on to play for Rangers and then for Ajax, as well as Nigeria’s national team.”
Bassey played for just one season at Ajax. He made 39 appearances, scoring one goal and providing five assists.
