The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has announced the appointment of Mrs. Nancy Sabanti Nathan as the new Acting Head of Service for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

This decision fills the vacancy created by the unfortunate passing of the previous office holder, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, who died the previous Monday.

According to a formal statement issued by the Minister’s media aide, Lore Olayinka, the appointment is effective immediately.

Mrs. Nathan will assume the role in an acting capacity, ensuring the continuity of leadership within the administration’s civil service while the process for appointing a substantive Head of Service is conducted.

Before this new appointment, Mrs. Nathan held the position of Permanent Secretary at the Youth Development Secretariat of the FCTA.

Her career within the administration also includes a significant tenure as the Director of Finance and Administration within the office of the FCT Minister herself, a role that provided her with extensive experience in the core administrative functions of the ministry.

This strategic appointment by Minister Wike is seen as a move to maintain stability and seamless operations within the FCTA’s bureaucracy during this period of transition.

The statement clarified that her acting tenure will remain in effect until a permanent appointment is formally made to the position.
