The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has instructed the newly appointed interim committee of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) International Golf and Country Club to commence operations without delay.

This directive follows the inauguration of the club’s Board of Trustees, led by Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, President of the Court of Appeal, aimed at addressing ongoing leadership challenges and restoring the club’s operations.

The Minister emphasised the government’s commitment to revitalising the club and ensuring its proper management.

He highlighted the necessity for the interim committee to implement immediate reforms, including conducting transparent elections for the Executive Committee, amending the club’s constitution, and ensuring its proper registration.

Justice Dongban-Mensem, in her capacity as Chairperson, expressed confidence in the Minister’s support and pledged to lead the board towards achieving these objectives.

She called for unity among board members to uphold the trust placed in them and to work collaboratively for the betterment of the club.

This development marks a significant step towards resolving the leadership crisis at the IBB Golf Club and restoring its status as a premier recreational facility in the FCT.
