Manchester United legend, Rio Fedinand, has claimed that Mikel Arteta could ditch the gunners this summer and take over at Real Madrid if Carlo Ancelotti leaves his head coach position at the Spanish giants at the end of the season.
It is rumoured that Real Madrid will part ways with Ancelotti this summer. That is unless the Italian can deliver the UEFA Champions League trophy for the second year in a row.
Ancelotti has been heavily linked with various other jobs, including the Brazil national team job and that of Stamford Bridge.
Speaking on his show on Youtube, Ferdinand explained:
You’ve got to keep Arteta, first and foremost. I heard something… I heard that Real Madrid (are interested) and when they come knocking your players will be coachless. I heard Ancelotti, Don Carlo, the eyebrow, he might be getting off, and that Arteta is looking to go to Real Madrid. That’s the rumour on the streets. The streets are talking.
Arteta is in a heated title race with Manchester City. He aims at giving Arsenal their first title since they went unbeaten in 2003/2004.
