The Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, on Thursday, announced the commencement of applications for teaching jobs under its Build-A-Thon project.

According to the Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, the scheme, which was inaugurated earlier in December, would encourage early technology adoption among senior secondary pupils.

The project will take place over four days in January 2024, with 1,500 kids from 150 schools attending from three locations: Owerri, Maiduguri, and Abeokuta.

On Thursday, the ministry issued a request for applications from potential instructors via X.

The tutors, according to the government, should be visionary educators, instructors, and enthusiasts capable of guiding the next generation of digital innovators in secondary schools.

Candidates who are interested and qualified should apply on the program’s website.

In response to the programme’s recent debut, the minister stated:

“The Build-A-Thon initiative is part of our strategic plan to promote early-technology adoption to shape tomorrow’s innovation leaders.”

He went on to say that the programme’s overarching purpose is to showcase creative ideas, recognise successes, develop future cooperation, inspire future leaders, and promote lifelong learning.
