The Federal Government has begun the upgrade of 50 senior secondary schools around the country.
Dr. Iyela Ajayi, Executive Secretary of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission, NSSCE, made the announcement during a recent courtesy visit to Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, by Commissioner of Education Dr. John Mamman.
According to Fatima Ahmed Bappare, Head of Public Relations and Protocol at NSSCE, Dr. Ajayi said that Government College in Nasarawa was one of the institutions chosen for the improvement.
He stated that President Bola Tinubu prioritised the growth of the education sector, as evidenced by the financial allocated to it in the 2024 Appropriation Act.
According to him:
“The upgrade of the 50 selected senior secondary schools across the nation, which was captured in the 2024 budget, is a clear testimony of this administration’s commitment to the development of senior secondary education in the country.”
