Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Lagos State, Nigeria for a Field Operations Specialist. The Field Operations Specialist will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing field activities and teams, ensuring operational efficiency, and communicating with various stakeholders. They will be responsible for implementing operational strategies, analyzing situation, and providing recommendations for process improvement.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in relevant field
- Critical skill in written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in handling email correspondence
- Access to 3rd party logistics party
- Key network relationship with port stakeholders
- Previous work experience with any logistics company would be an added advantage
Responsibilities
- Maintain overall operational relationships with field and office staff.
- Oversee daily port operations, ensuring efficient cargo handling and compliance with safety and security regulations.
- Coordinate with port authorities, shipping lines, and other stakeholders to streamline operations and resolve issues.
- Plan and coordinate the movement of goods through the port, including loading and unloading of cargo.
- Monitor and manage the transportation of goods to and from the port, ensuring timely delivery.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation for customs clearance and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all port activities, including shipment details, inventory levels, and operational metrics.
- Generate reports for management and stakeholders to provide insights into port performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with port authorities, shipping companies, customs officials, and other key stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all port-related inquiries and issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance port efficiency and reduce costs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive.
