The President’s wife, Oluremi Tinubu, began her first official duties as First Lady of Nigeria on Monday in Abuja. As part of a formal meeting with the first lady’s unit chiefs, Remi Tinubu toured the office with the media team, permanent secretary Tijani Umar, and other unit heads.

At the meeting called by the permanent secretary, the first lady praised the previous administration for providing her with qualified collaborators.

According to her-

“I am delighted to meet you all. I believe that as we transit into this new role that God has blessed us with, I will need your experience in serving our people. We thank God that the outgoing administration was able to leave us in very capable hands”.

The first lady promised to contact the unit leaders whenever necessary.

She further stated-

“I’m also trying to get some political appointees to join you”.

The permanent secretary while responding to the unit’s staff members’ willingness to collaborate with Remi said –

“In due course, Your Excellency, you are going to be meeting with other members of staff because it is a privilege for them to know the boss they will be serving”.
