FRSC alerts public to spreading recruitment fraud schemes

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a strong warning to the public regarding a surge in fraudulent recruitment activities perpetrated by individuals falsely claiming to represent the organisation.

In a statement released in Abuja on Monday by the Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, the agency expressed serious concern over the escalating operations of scammers who are deceiving and financially exploiting unsuspecting job seekers with fictitious employment promises.

According to the statement, these fraudsters are employing increasingly sophisticated methods, including the creation and distribution of counterfeit appointment letters and even fake call-up documents to the FRSC Training Schools and Academy.

These deceptive practices are designed to lend an air of legitimacy to their schemes with the ultimate goal of extorting money from individuals desperate for employment opportunities within the Corps.

ACM Ogungbemide emphatically stated that the FRSC’s recruitment process is conducted with the highest levels of transparency and is strictly based on merit. He clarified that all official recruitment announcements are made exclusively through recognised national newspapers, authorised television stations, and the Corps’ verified official communication channels.

The agency has never authorised any individual, whether personnel or external representative, to solicit money or any form of gratification from potential applicants in exchange for employment consideration.

The public education officer urged Nigerians to exercise extreme caution and disregard any unsolicited job offers or requests for payment related to FRSC recruitment.

He further encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the nearest FRSC command, relevant law enforcement authorities, or through the Corps’ official reporting channels.

The FRSC reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to maintaining integrity, fairness, and transparency in all its personnel recruitment exercises and advised all job seekers to verify any employment-related information directly through the agency’s official sources.
