Following the release of the salaries of members of the Gombe state university’s Academic Staff Union of Universities, which was withheld for two months, its council decided to process results and monitor projects for the first semester of 2021/2022.
The Branch President Dr Suleiman Jauro announced at a media briefing held in the agency’s boardroom on Tuesday that his decision was a follow-up to a meeting held by union members on Monday.
The union titled the speech “Gombe State Government: Addressing Persistent Problems at Gombe State University”.
GSU management has enacted a “no job, no pay” policy aimed at forcing members to return to work. As a result, the branch decided not to process the test results further.
Jauro said that;
“the branch wishes to acknowledge the release of the two months withheld salaries in response to which the congress has resolved to resume processing of the first semester 2021/2022 examination results as well as the supervision of all projects.
The branch had last year suspended these two activities following the university’s policy of “No work, No pay.”
