Taraba State’s Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, said Governor Agbu Kefas has the power to nominate anybody he wants.
The party leadership made this announcement on Saturday through its spokesperson, Andetarang Irammae, in response to criticism over the governor’s recent selections.
The governor recently released a list of PDP faithful who will serve as Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Community Special Assistants, and Heads and Members of Boards, Commissions, and Agencies.
Some party faithful who are dissatisfied with the governor’s position raised worry about some of the names listed on the lists.
During an interactive session with media in Jalingo, the state capital, the party’s leadership addressed their concerns and advised the dissatisfied members to remain calm.
“All the appointees are members of our party and are persons with great pedigree in politics and governance and they are expected to bring their wealth of experience for the good governance and development of the state,” Irammae stated.
According to him, there is an interaction between the party leadership and government officials to address the legitimate concerns of the party faithful, and calling on members to be patient.
He advised the party’s supporters to exercise prudence and not overheat the system over Governor Agbu Kefas’ recent choices, stating that the governor has the authority to choose anyone he chooses.
