Governor Otti of Abia State has inaugurated the six new commissioners whose nominations were approved by the state House of Assembly.

The new commissioners are Professor Ogbonnaya Uche, Mr. David Kalu, Kingsley Chibueze Nwokocha, Dr. Uwaoma Ukandu, Dr. Queen Ijeoma Aghukwa, and Ubochi Goodluck Chinedu.

While addressing the new commissioners, Governor Otti stated that they were chosen based on merit rather than the conventional recruiting pattern of filling important government jobs with cronies who accomplish very little in terms of governance implementation.

He pledged to strengthen efforts to make life easier for Abians and guaranteed the incoming commissioners his support.

The Abia Governor advised the new appointees to avoid infighting among their colleagues and made it plain that his government would not tolerate corrupt behaviors.

Governor Otti went on to say that the ministries will undergo a dynamic reorganization to reorganize their activities.

It should be noted that three previous commissioners resigned from their cabinet posts.
