Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, has blamed Nigeria’s difficulties on the greed and selfishness of the country’s political leaders.
Speaking on Thursday at the Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa, in honour of the late paramount ruler of the Tombia community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state, Christian Otobotekere, he stated that every progressive nation had leaders who were not only patriotic but selfless.
The deputy governor, who spoke as the special guest of honour, praised the late traditional ruler and educationist known as ‘The Poet King’ as a man of integrity.
He advised the political class to follow in the footsteps of persons like Otobotekere, father of Didi Walson-Jack, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Water Resources.
