Hazard Makes First League Appearance in 7 Months

Former Chelsea midfielder, Eden Hazard, sees his first La Liga minutes in seven months after coming on as a substitute in Real Madrid’s win against Real Valladolid.

The 32-year-old Belgian, who has struggled for form and fitness throughout his time at Santiago Bernabeu, was introduced off the bench by coach Carlo Ancelotti. This was Eden Hazard’s first appearance since September 2022.

Hazard has scored just seven goals for Real through the best part of four seasons, with much more expected of him following a move from Chelsea in 2019 that saw him arrive in the Spanish capital as one of the best wide attackers in world football.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid beat Valladolid  6-0 with Benzema scoring a hatrick. After Rodrygo gave the home team the lead in the first half, Benzema netted his first goal 29 minutes into the tie. He then added another three minutes later before striking for a third time in the 36th minute.

Madrid will take on Barcelona in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday at the Camp Nou. Los Blancos trail 1-0 from the first leg of the semi-final.
