Job Description
This is a full-time hybrid role as Head of Trade Finance. The Head of Trade Finance will develop and implement strategies related to letters of credit, trade finance, supply chain financing, etc. This role requires a deep understanding of trade finance products and services, regulatory compliance, risk management, and developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership:
– Develop and implement the trade finance strategy in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the company.
– Provide strategic direction for the trade finance team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
2. Product Development:
– Identify opportunities for new trade finance products and services tailored to the needs of clients.
– Collaborate with product development teams to design, launch, and manage trade finance products.
3. Risk Management:
– Develop and implement robust risk management policies and procedures for trade finance activities.
– Monitor and assess credit, operational, and market risks associated with trade finance transactions.
4. Client Relationship Management:
– Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs.
– Provide guidance and support to clients in navigating the company’s trade finance solutions.
5. Regulatory Compliance:
– Stay abreast of relevant regulations and ensure that all trade finance activities comply with local and international regulatory requirements.
– Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory issues and implement necessary changes.
6. Team Management:
– Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing trade finance team.
– Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
7. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
– Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for trade finance activities and regularly monitor performance against targets.
– Prepare and present reports on trade finance portfolio performance and strategic initiatives to senior management.
8. Collaboration:
– Collaborate with other departments, such as credit, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless integration of trade finance activities with overall banking operations.
9. Market Research:
– Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments in trade finance.
– Use market insights to make informed decisions and enhance the company’s competitive position.
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
– Extensive experience in trade finance, with a strong understanding of microfinance principles.
– Proven leadership and managerial skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performance teams.
– In-depth knowledge of trade finance products, instruments, and regulatory requirements.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
– Results-oriented with a focus on achieving business objectives.
