High School Student Accepted into 170 Colleges, $9M in Scholarships

Maliq Barnes, a 16-year-old student at International High School of New Orleans, has been accepted into more than 170 colleges and received over $9 million in scholarships. With a 4.98 GPA and being a part of his school’s basketball and track and field teams, Barnes shared the secrets to his success. He credits his faith in God, his parents’ support and school counsellor Denise James’ guidance for his achievements.

During an interview with Fox News, Barnes revealed that his long-term aspirations are his motivation. He wants to attend a college with the best academic and financial courses. He has yet to decide on the college he will attend but hopes to choose one that offers him an entire ride, meal plans, and quality education where he feels comfortable.

Barnes also advised others who want to excel academically and attract scholarships. He urged students to prioritize their education and keep their dreams and aspirations at the forefront of their minds. While acknowledging that not everyone will have the same goals as him, Barnes emphasized the importance of prioritizing one’s dreams and finishing what one started.

Barnes’ story inspires many students who strive to achieve academic excellence and attract scholarships. His dedication, hard work, and faith demonstrate that one can achieve anything one wants with focus and determination.
