Guinness World Record holder and celebrity chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, widely known as Hilda Baci, has revealed plans to undertake another historic culinary endeavour.
The acclaimed chef announced she will attempt to cook the largest pot of Jollof rice ever made on September 12, 2025. This ambitious project will be conducted in partnership with the popular seasoning brand Gino.
In an Instagram post shared on Friday, the 28-year-old culinary star provided details about the massive scale of her upcoming attempt. The specially designed cooking pot will measure six meters in width and six meters in height, creating what could potentially become a new world record.

Baci described the event as more than just a cooking demonstration, characterising it as a cultural celebration of West African cuisine and identity. “It’s more than cooking. It’s a celebration of our food, our culture, music and us,” she stated in an accompanying video.
The Akwa Ibom-born chef first envisioned this project two years ago, following her extraordinary achievement in May 2023 when she cooked continuously for 100 hours in Lagos. That remarkable feat earned her international recognition and a Guinness World Record, establishing her reputation as one of Africa’s most innovative culinary personalities.
Hilda Baci emphasised that this new attempt represents both a personal dream and a statement about Nigerian culinary heritage on the global stage. She expressed excitement about sharing this historic moment with her supporters, noting that the communal aspect of food is essential to the Jollof rice tradition.
The announcement has already generated significant excitement among food enthusiasts and fans worldwide who are eager to witness another potential world record achievement.
