Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has reassured citizens that his government is committed to maintaining the current pace of infrastructure development throughout the state.

The governor promised the residents additional projects to boost economic growth as he was commissioning a freshly built hospital road in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government, on Tuesday.

According to him, in the previous five years, his government has built over 600 kilometres of roads around the state, adding that this coming week, additional roads would be put into service in Iperu and Ilaro.

The governor said that because the Ogijo community has gas articulation, it is one of the state’s industrial areas. He also revealed that his administration has provided transformers and other electric accessories to the community, which has helped them overcome decades-long electricity-related problems.

When he visited the region almost a year ago, Abiodun said that the road’s construction was in line with his pledge. He noted that despite the challenges the contractors had during the project’s construction, they overcame them and completed it on schedule.

The governor said that one of the main drivers of growth is road infrastructure, arguing that the completion of the road will increase business activity in the region because it connects various settlements.

He said:

“This community is very important to us, apart from being a border town, it is also an industrial area. I can assure you that this community will experience more development. I call on the Kabiyesi to work with the local government chairman, community development associations, and all relevant stakeholders and come up with projects according to their priority for immediate execution.”

The governor stated that the road’s commissioning would catalyze several projects to be completed in time for the start of his second term in office, all the while stressing that his administration would not make hollow promises.

He expressed gratitude to the local populace and traditional leaders for their unwavering support of his administration and promised to finish any unfinished projects that would benefit the people, as well as to ensure that no region would be developed at the expense of others.
