Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has responded to a recent accusation made by the former governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili that he transformed the state into his own property.
After serving as the governor of the State for eight years, Odili accused Wike of converting the oil-rich state into his own property.
Odili had praised State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for stopping the FCT Minister from using the state as his personal property.
But on Friday, Wike retaliated against the former governor while addressing a luncheon in Port Harcourt.
The minister denied that the State was being turned into his personal property.
He said:
“I never said so. I paid money for Rivers people to be medical doctors. I am trying to make Rivers State the medical hub of South-South Nigeria. How did I now come to convert Rivers State into a personal estate?
“I am the best governor that Rivers State has ever produced. How did I convert Rivers State as my personal estate? And people will not answer simple question.”
