The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally presented a Certificate of Return to Kamilu Sa’idu, the newly elected member representing the Kaura-Namoda South Constituency in the Zamfara State House of Assembly.

This follows his victory in the supplementary by-election, which took place on August 21, 2025. The presentation ceremony was held on Monday at the INEC state headquarters in Gusau, where the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Professor Mahmud Isah, personally handed over the certificate to the lawmaker-elect.

In his address during the brief event, Professor Isah characterised the recently concluded by-election as transparent, free, and fair, emphasising that the process had been widely accepted.

He praised the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by INEC staff, whose efforts were instrumental in safeguarding the integrity of the electoral exercise.

The REC also noted that these efforts were vital in countering attempts by certain individuals to discredit the commission’s work. Furthermore, he urged Sa’idu to serve his constituents with honesty, sincerity, and a strong commitment to diligent representation.

In his acceptance speech, Sa’idu expressed profound gratitude to God and to the electorate of Kaura-Namoda South for their support and confidence. He pledged to be a faithful and effective representative, vowing to justify the trust reposed in him by the people.

Also present at the ceremony was the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima, who commended both INEC and security agencies for their professional conduct throughout the election. Dangaladima described the outcome as a clear affirmation of the party’s enduring popularity and support within the state.
