Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has been criticised by IPMAN or the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria for its decision to charge more for fuel that is taken from the Dangote Refinery than for petroleum that is imported.

In response to questions on the Morning Brief breakfast show on Channels Television on Monday, John Kekeocha, IPMAN’s National Welfare Officer, disclosed this.

It makes no sense if NNPCL is able to offer Dangote items for more money than foreign goods. What exactly is the occasion for which we are celebrating now? said he.

Sunday was the first batch of gasoline that the NNPCL began loading from the Dangote Refinery.

The private refinery provided the corporation with gasoline at a rate of N898 per litre.

Recall that on Sunday, NNPCL retail locations in Lagos lifted gasoline from the Dangote Refinery for around N855.

But currently, a litre of Dangote petrol costs N950 in Lagos and N1,019 in Borno.
