The death toll from a tanker explosion in Jigawa State has risen to 105.
The number of injured has gone up to 70.
A tanker explosion in Taura LGA in Jigawa State killed 94 people and injured 50 others on Wednesday.
According to DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, spokesperson for the Jigawa State Command, findings found that the explosion was triggered by fuel that poured from the truck into a gutter.
“Unfortunately, villagers attempted to scoop petrol from the drainage, resulting in a flame that engulfed the area and many people were reportedly perished.”
He stated that 105 bodies had been removed, and 70 injured people had been sent to Ringim and Hadejia General Hospitals for medical treatment.
The fire was effectively doused thanks to the collaborative efforts of police officers, firemen, and members of the public.
