Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has urged Nigerian youngsters to enter politics in order to shape their future and make a difference.
Otti made the appeal at Sunday’s church service at The Transforming Church, TTC, in Abuja.
He emphasized that every civilization needs the leadership it deserves and that politics is for politicians, who will determine everything for the people.
Quoting Psalms 62:11, the governor remarked that authority belongs to God and exhorted the youths to not shy away from power.
Governor Otti said:
“I am challenging all the young people here. Don’t shy away from politics. That is where decisions about your future are made.
“You can make a lot of changes if you have power, and that is what politics will give you to create the changes you want to see in the lives of your people.
“This is because holding a political office affords people the opportunity to affect the lives of more people than one can imagine.”
Otti stated that he left the banking industry in 2014 and entered politics to make a difference by doing things differently.
According to him, as governor of Abia, he could affect the whole state’s population with a single move, advising Christians not to rely just on prayer but to supplement it with hard labour in order to realize their hopes and desires.
