Jennifer Odonwodo, the widow of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, has taken a walk down memory lane, sharing a funny note her husband once wrote to borrow money from her.
According to Jennifer, while going through old photos, she stumbled upon the note and couldn’t help but laugh. She revealed that she and her husband used to take their financial dealings seriously, even signing written agreements that included dates, times, and repayment plans. To make things more official, they would take photos of the signed documents in case the paper went missing or was intentionally torn.
She wrote:
“Was going through old pictures and came across this. It put a very wide smile on my face.
JP and I got to signing agreements, and also stated dates and times when monies lent would be returned.
We further had to take pictures of the papers in case the paper gets missing, deliberately torn, or hidden by the borrower — we’d bring forth pictorial evidence.
Once you lend money to your spouse, sibling, or close family member, there’s a 90% chance that money is gone.
Do you lend your spouse, partner, or family member money, or do you dash them? Let’s discuss.”
The post sparked laughter among fans, who found her recollection both touching and relatable.
In recent months, Jennifer has continued to share memories of her late husband as she navigates life without him. A few weeks ago, she posted a video of Junior Pope and his father, expressing how some days felt bearable while others were overwhelming. She prayed for God’s healing and strength for her family.
Junior Pope tragically lost his life in April 2024 after drowning in the Anam River, Anambra State, while returning from a movie set. Since his passing, Jennifer has honoured his memory in several heartfelt ways.
In April 2025, she marked his one-year remembrance, describing it as a year of pain and perseverance, filled with thoughts of him every single day. She also celebrated his 45th posthumous birthday in May, expressing sadness that she could no longer surprise him with her usual birthday plans.
By July, Jennifer marked what would have been their 11th wedding anniversary, expressing mixed emotions — pain from his absence but comfort in knowing he lives on in spirit.
Nollywood actress Empress Njamah, a close friend of the couple, has also shown consistent support for Jennifer and her children. Recently, Empress celebrated Junior Pope’s son, Jamon, as he turned five, praising Jennifer for raising her boys with strength and grace.
“I wish your dad was here to celebrate with you, but I know he’s watching over you, proud,” Empress wrote, calling Jennifer an “incredible mum” doing a “remarkable job.”
