Kaduna: Troops neutralise bandit, recover arms

The 1 Division Nigerian Army, in Sabon Birni, Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State, said its forces had neutralised a bandit and retrieved weapons and ammunition.

Lt-Col Musa Yahaya, the Division’s Acting Deputy Director for Public Relations, stated in a statement that the event happened on December 17, when forces attacked several bandits in the region.

According to Yahaya, the forces discovered one AK-47 gun and magazine loaded with 15 7.62mm (special) bullets, a Baofeng radio, and two Tecno phones.

He said:

“Troops of the Division, in another sting operation along Dende-Buruku Road in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Dec 15, ambushed some bandits.

“During the operation, several bandits escaped with gunshot wounds while troops recovered one AK-47 rifle and one AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with four 7.62mm(special) ammunition.”
