Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, started demolishing illegally constructed structures on public lands in the early hours of Saturday. To demonstrate his devotion to the demolition exercise, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, an engineer by trade, oversaw the dismantling of the illegal structure alongside State Commissioner of Police Muhammed Gumel.
The demolition campaign’s first casualty was already downed at around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday. It was a three-story structure with 90 businesses near Filing Sukuwa in Nasarawa GRA.
Recall that Abba Kabir Yusuf vowed to destroy state-owned structures shortly after being named governor-elect.
Since taking office on Monday, May 29th, this is the first demolition that has been completed.
Also on Friday, the governor asked the developer working on the Hajj Camp to halt building.
Those who erected structures on government properties or illegally purchased parcels of land are concerned about the situation.
