Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has issued a stern warning to public officials in his administration against any form of misconduct, emphasising his government’s zero-tolerance policy for corruption and unethical behaviour.
The governor’s statement came during the 30th Executive Council Meeting held on Wednesday in Kano, following the resignation of the state’s Commissioner for Transport, Alhaji Ibrahim Namadi.
Although the governor did not directly address Namadi’s resignation, sources suggest it may be connected to the commissioner’s alleged involvement in securing bail for a suspected drug offender.
Governor Yusuf used the opportunity to reiterate his administration’s commitment to discipline, transparency, and the fight against drug abuse and trafficking, which he described as major threats to Kano’s youth.
The governor urged cabinet members to adhere to the highest standards of integrity, warning that any official found engaging in misconduct would face legal consequences. He also advised those unwilling to uphold the administration’s principles to resign voluntarily.
Reaffirming his dedication to accountability and good governance, Governor Yusuf stressed that his administration would not compromise its mandate to restore integrity and progress in Kano.
He emphasised justice and service to the people as core priorities, signalling a firm stance against any actions that could undermine public trust in the government.
