On the night of May 19, 2025, the Rairaye community in the Radda district of Charanchi Local Government Area in Katsina State came under attack by armed bandits.
During the raid, one resident was injured, and a large number of cattle were rustled. This incident adds to the growing insecurity affecting rural communities across the state.
According to reports from local observers and security analysts, the attackers stormed the village under the cover of darkness, catching residents off guard.
A security analyst on social media confirmed the incident, stating that this is another devastating blow to the already distressed communities in Charanchi LGA, Katsina. The analyst emphasised that the consistent nature of such attacks reflects a dangerous trend of unchecked violence in the region.
As of the time of this report, the Katsina State Police Command has not released an official statement regarding the incident. Residents of the area in Charanchi LGA have expressed concern over the silence from security agencies and the seeming lack of urgency in addressing the security threats that have plagued their communities.
