Gunmen kidnapped three people in Ora, Ayetoro village, Ekiti Local Government, Kwara State.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Monday when around nine militants, four of whom were wearing masks, entered the area holding AK-47 rifles and shooting intermittently.
The armed men also reportedly assaulted the palace of the community’s traditional ruler, Oba C.O Odeyemi, demolished his dwelling, and burgled his wife’s business, Olori Odeyemi, stealing various things and cash.
When reached, the state police command’s spokesman, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, verified the occurrence.
“Security operatives working with vigilantes and local hunters, have been deployed to the bush for a possible rescue of the victims,” he said.
