Lagos Ministry Holds Mega Empowerment Programme.

The Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation says it will hold a Micro-Enterprise Support Programme to assist the most vulnerable residents across the state. According to a press release on Wednesday by the Public Affairs Unit of the Ministry, the initiative is a mega-empowerment programme for integral and vulnerable residents across communities in Lagos State.

The statement partly read,

“The programme is directed at alleviating the plights of beneficiaries and working towards their financial independence as contributors to the economic sustainability and development of Lagos State.

“This commendable initiative considers a wide range of vocations for empowerment. Industrial milling machines, sewing machines, snail pens, professional hair dryers, barbing kits with generators and sterilising sets, barbecue grills and toasters, industrial ovens, industrial gas cookers, and popcorn-making machines, among other appliances, are being given to indigents and aspiring businessmen and women for free.”

The ministry assured all beneficiaries at the ceremony of proper free work tools relating to their respective trades. The ministry said the programme would enhance high productivity and economic growth.
