Nigerian Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (Kwam1) is under fire after a disappointing performance at Lajoke’s birthday party.
According to blogger Kemi Ashefon Love Haven, the singer, who was paid thousands of pounds, sang for only two hours and neglected to mention the celebrant’s name, focusing instead on his friends. This led to boos from the London guests, and it was another artist, Laolu Gbenjo, who salvaged the event.
The blog post detailed the grievances: Kwam1’s short performance, his failure to acknowledge the celebrant, and the subsequent discontent among attendees. Comments from social media users reflected mixed opinions, with some defending him and others criticizing his actions. One user mentioned the singer breached the contract by collecting £39k but performing for only two hours.
The controversy surrounding Kwam1 isn’t new. During the General election, a video surfaced alleging his involvement in violent activities against Labour party supporters. Additionally, former drummer Kunle Ayanlowo accused Kwam1 of mistreatment, claiming the singer exploited and belittled him over their 32-year working relationship. Kwam1 dismissed these allegations, calling them attempts to tarnish his reputation.
In a twist of personal news, Kwam1’s estranged wife, Titi Faithia, has reportedly found love again. Titi, who shares three daughters with Kwam1, recently shared a video with her new partner on Instagram, expressing her happiness and moving on from her past marriage. The news was met with congratulatory messages from fans and followers.
