Big Brother Naija winner Mercy Eke recently addressed a fan’s question about when she plans to have a child.
The fan reached out to Mercy via Snapchat, asking, “When you wan born this girl ehn fine girl.” In response, Mercy acknowledged that having children is a beautiful part of life but emphasized that life is about more than just that. She candidly said, “Having kids is a beautiful part of life, but there’s so much more to living, I can’t kill myself, alright?”
Mercy’s response reflects her thoughtful approach to life beyond societal pressures.
Last year, Mercy had dropped hints about marriage. After attending Sharon Ooja’s wedding in June, she expressed readiness to settle down, saying she wouldn’t mind marrying her gender and that love is sweet. Later, she shared photos in a corset lace dress, captioning them with a hint that she would be a bride in 2025.
Although Mercy’s current relationship status remains private, she has previously hinted at being in a relationship. Last year, she showed off lavish gifts from a mystery man, including a dollar bouquet, which she proudly shared on Twitter, appreciating her “boo.”
During her time in the BBNaija All Stars house, Mercy revealed she was in a relationship with a billionaire outside the show. She claimed her boyfriend even offered her the show’s N120 million grand prize not to participate, but she turned it down. Mercy also mentioned that co-housemate Frodd knows her boyfriend.
Mercy’s romantic life has largely remained private since breaking up with fellow BBNaija housemate Ike. While in the house, Mercy and Ike were a popular couple with a strong fan following, but their relationship ended soon after the show.
Afterward, Mercy briefly dated another co-housemate, Pere. The two were spotted together on several occasions and even shared a kiss publicly. However, their relationship didn’t last, and they eventually unfollowed each other on social media.
Mercy’s openness about her views on motherhood and relationships shows her focus on living life fully on her own terms.
