Nollywood actress Mide Martins has honored the memory of her late mother on her 23rd remembrance with a heartfelt tribute and a gathering on a movie set.
On her Instagram page, the Yoruba actress shared an emotional message expressing how deeply she misses her mother, describing her as a “rare gem” and a “real angel in human skin.” Reflecting on the years since her mother’s passing, she revealed that the pain of her loss remains fresh, often bringing her to tears.
To mark the occasion, Mide celebrated with her film crew, providing them with food and holding prayers on set. Captioning a video of the gathering, she expressed gratitude to God and prayed for her mother to continue resting in perfect peace.

This isn’t the first time the actress has gone the extra mile to honor her mother’s memory. Over the years, Mide has held similar events, including prayers attended by colleagues and notable personalities like MC Oluomo and Adebayo Tijani.
Mide’s efforts to honour her mother’s legacy have not been without criticism. In 2021, a veteran actress, Ashabi Olorisha, accused her of neglecting her mother’s grave and family. Responding to the allegations, Mide defended herself, stating that she does not owe the public explanations for her actions. Following the backlash, she visited her mother’s grave alongside family members, a moment captured and shared by an Instagram blogger.
Despite these controversies, Mide Martins continues to uphold her mother’s legacy in her own way, reminding her fans and loved ones of the enduring bond between mother and daughter.
