The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received no less than 108 Nigerians who have been trapped in Tripoli, Libya. The agency stated this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos. On behalf of the Federal Government, Mr Mustapha Ahmed, Director-General of NEMA, formally welcomed the returns. He stated that there were 52 men, 46 women, four male children, two female children, and five newborns.

The returnees, according to Ahmed, who was represented by Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, Coordinator of the Lagos Territorial Office, landed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport’s Cargo Wing in Ikeja late on Tuesday night.

According to him, they arrived aboard an Al Buraq Air Boeing 737-800 with the registration number 5A-DMG.

According to the DG, the current administration is dedicated to enhancing the economy and making it advantageous for everyone.

He promised that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration will prioritise youth empowerment in order to harness their enthusiasm and technological know-how for national development.

Ahmed stated, “The President would evolve a policy that will see youths and women actively participating in the implementation.

“The youths will be the driving force of all decisions in the present administration because of the importance that the leadership of this nation has placed on tapping the potentials which abound in the largest segment of the population”.
