Nigeria is “a highly corrupt place,” according to mixed martial artist Israel Adesanya, a Nigerian-New Zealander. He claimed to adore Nigerians, yet there are many red flags regarding the nation. The Hut Boxin’ audiovisual podcast recently had a segment that featured The Last Stylebender.
Adesanya emphasized that the Nigerian authorities are zealous in their attempts to steal public cash.
He said,
“Nigeria is a very corrupt place. I love my people but it is just that the government; everyone trying to find a way to siphon money.”
Recall that on April 9, 2023, Israel Adesanya won his Middleweight title back at UFC 287 by knocking out longtime rival Alex Pereira while sporting the Nigerian flag.
He earned $3.18 million for his bout with the Brazilian, earning him the third highest-paid UFC fighter in the current rankings, behind Conor McGregor and Jon Jones.
It is his highest payout to date.
